David Massingham - Book, Music and Lyrics
David’s first foray into writing musicals came at school when he wrote a play entitled Dick Warren! Private Investigator. This featured one lone song that also happened to be the mother of all love songs: I Love My Dick. David then teamed up with Matthew Townend at Exeter University to write Plague! The Musical. This was produced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2008 where it was awarded excellent reviews and sell-out show status and has subsequently been performed by companies across the world. While producing the 2008 production of Plague, David met Tim Frost and they then collaborated on Piramania! The Swashbuckling Pirate Musical. This was initially produced at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2010 and has since been extended, reworked and orchestrated.
In his real life David works in technology and lives in New York City. He is very excited to return to the UK and Edinburgh this summer to see and support Piramania!
